I saw you by the sea today, Lord
I had to squint because the sun was low, but

I know I saw you there.

I left my net at once when I saw you, Lord

It was cast out far in that sea, it was putting down roots

and taking up space in that sea, but I left that net

though the water laughed and the sun winked cheekily.

I saw you beside the sea today, Lord

I had to squint because the sun was low, but

I know I saw you there because I heard you say, “Come, follow me.”
